Matthew Ashe, vice president for SBA Lending at Synovus Bank and the 2024 Georgia Banking School Graduate of Distinction, shared with us why he strongly recommends attending the program. He credits the school's challenging assignments and the bank simulation exercise for broadening his understanding of the banking industry and improving his strategic decision-making skills. Through the program, Ashe learned how banks operate and how to better position his bank for success. “My best analogy is to describe myself and my daily role within the bank as being a piece on a chess board and that attending banking school taught me how to play chess,” he said.
